Hello and Welcome To Mr. Merritt's Social Studies Page!
About me
Hello everyone, and welcome to my page!
My name is Bryan Merritt and I am your child’s 7th/8th grade social studies teacher. This is my 10th year at Brennan Rogers and I am looking forward to another great school year.
I currently hold a Master’s degree in Education in the area of Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT. I also hold a B.A. in History from Southern New Hampshire University located in Manchester NH.
It has always been my dream to be a teacher of history as well as one day open and run my own school.
I was born in Hartford Connecticut; however; I was raised most of my life in New Britain, CT.
I am a huge sports fan and the New York Giants are my favorite sports team. When I’m not glued in front of the television on Sunday’s for the Giants; I love playing baseball, basketball, and football.
My friends would best describe me as loyal, trustworthy, caring, and random. I love history and love teaching students how to examine the past in order to ensure future success. I believe that there is a lot we can learn from not just the past experiences of others but from our own experiences as well. In my class you can expect to learn how past events helped shape both present and future actions and how we actively construct our own personal histories in the greater context of social history.
I hope you found this page to be both helpful and informative in getting to know me a little better. If you should have any questions for me please feel free to drop me a note on my site.
Thank you!
Sincerely
Bryan M.
